Position: Network Administrator
Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA

United One is seeking a Network Administrator with 3-5 years’ experience. The candidate for this position must be able to maintain and support all network hardware and software, server/workstation hardware and software, and peripheral hardware to assist all levels of the organization in achieving objectives.

Network Administrator Job Description:
  • Assist and/or lead project implementations, including new technologies or upgrades to existing technologies.
  • Technical advisor for all of the United One’s compliance needs and audit requests
  • Plans and manages the phasing out of legacy systems and technologies in a strategic manner
  • Develop and recommending strategies for network growth, performance, security, and other network enhancements by maximizing functionality of existing technologies and providing recommendations for upgrades as needed
  • Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation of our Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Liaison to all IT third party vendors including Disaster Recovery (IPR/Now XAND), Network (Lightspeed Technologies, Frontier), Vendors (Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Verizon Wireless), Security (Cisco, IDenticard, Action Alarm)
  • Monitor and identify capacity and performance issues for network traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of remote offices
  • Performs network audits as necessary-identify deficiencies and make network performance recommendations
  • Meeting financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the corporate IT architecture
  • Design and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN and perimeter network infrastructure including Cisco ASA Firewalls (5510), Cisco Catalyst Switching, SourceFire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
  • Lead administrator for the setup and configuration of our Cisco IP Phone System
  • Oversee the operation and monitoring of our UniFlow Copier Management Software
  • Maintain a Hybrid Configuration between Office 365 and Exchange 2010 in a DAG Environment
  • Configure / troubleshoot / maintain / monitor performance of Windows 2003/2008/2012 servers: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print services, group policy, and user and security group administration.
  • Responsible for building/maintaining the hardware/virtual systems in a VMware network infrastructure including Full failover clustering and High Availability, VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), Cisco UCS Blade System, and NetApp SAN Storage Appliance
  • Responsible for administering of an enterprise fax solution
  • An understanding of ITIL principles which include areas of incident, problem, and change management
  • Day-to-day maintenance including, but not limited to Server monitoring software (Solarwinds Network Monitor/Nagios), Ensuring delivery of Antivirus Updates/WSUS Windows Updates, Troubleshooting email/fax/network issues to ensure reliability, Resolving copier issues, Resolutions of appropriate tickets within our Helpdesk system, Assistance with 3rd party websites, Assistance with departmental software (county websites, plugins, etc.), and o Assistance with other hardware and software (Adobe Acrobat, mobile devices, etc.)

Position: Application Developer
Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA

The primary purpose of this position is to participate in the software development life cycle including technical design, development, testing and deployment of Information Services Department and business solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full range of software application development activities, as well as maintenance/enhancement of existing computer-based systems or software modules supporting one or more business areas or enabling technologies and may serve as a technical lead on small to mid-size projects. The systems supported / developed will typically involve several technologies, including database, client-server integration and web development components. The successful candidate must be well versed in multiple software languages and tools. He or she will be expected to demonstrate through knowledge of processes and procedures within the Information Services Department and the supported business units and is expected to continue formal and informal training to enhance and sustain these required skills. The successful candidate should have a comprehensive knowledge in one area of the business and a basic understanding of other business areas. Position collaborates with other United One employees to build effective relationships with partners. Position communicates effectively in a verbal and written manner.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration.
  • BS or BA in Computer Science or Other Technical Field and 2 to 4 years related work experience (or 5 to 7 years related work experience)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of major computer systems supporting a business area including critical system functions, interfaces and data dependencies in a client-server environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of programming languages, relational database theory, object-oriented programming, work flow, and client server technology spanning multiple platforms
  • Ability to participate in a team environment and work with others to achieve goals and results
  • Ability to perform technical lead role on projects
  • Ability to understand and complete work assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop technical solutions that resolve the business issues
