Abstract: Effective 1/1/2010, the York County Recorder of Deeds will be charging a $10.00 fee for the parcel number certification on all documents being presented for recording.

Effective January 1, 2010, by ordinance 2009-03 passed by the York County Commissioners on September 9, 2009, all documents pertaining to real estate will be required to contain a tax parcel number. The ordinance in 1999 is now being amended to change the fee. The fee will change from 2.00 per parcel number to 10.00 per parcel number certified and will be payable in the Recorder of Deeds office at the time of recording.

As in the past, the number should appear on the front page of the document including the address of the property and the municipality. The document will need to be certified by the Tax Assessment office prior to recording in the Recorder of Deeds office. Items sent by mail should continue to be sent to the Recorder of Deeds office, 28 East Market Street, York, PA 17401.
